Over-the-Range Microwave

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Power drill
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Level
  • Tape measure
  • Stud finder
  • Pencil

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a location above your range with proper ventilation and electrical access.
  2. Remove Old Unit: If replacing an existing microwave, carefully remove it and disconnect all wiring.
  3. Locate Wall Studs: Use a stud finder to locate and mark wall studs for secure mounting.
  4. Install Mounting Plate: Secure the mounting plate to the wall studs using provided hardware.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to a dedicated 120V, 15-20 amp circuit. Follow local electrical codes.
  6. Ventilation Setup: Choose between external venting or recirculating mode and install accordingly.
  7. Mount Microwave: Lift the microwave onto the mounting plate and secure with mounting bolts.
  8. Final Connections: Connect vent ductwork (if external venting) and ensure all connections are secure.
  9. Test Operation: Test all functions including microwave, vent fan, and lighting.

Troubleshooting
